Writing Prompt - Short Story
Submitted by Stephen Griffin on 5 March 2015.
A prompt to get learners writing a short story.
Learners must plan, draft and compose a piece of fiction that culminates with the line The door slammed shut, never to be opened again.
Good for brainstorming, planning, drafting, composing, checking and proofreading written work.
Editor’s note
The scaffolding and writing frames make this ideal for a wide ability range.
Although Functional English does not include creative writing this resource works well because it takes the learner through the planning, drafting and proof reading process.
