A short workbook I created to 'test the maths water' before teaching maths to a group of adult and young ESOL learners. It covers almost everything in the Entry Level 1 curriculum with exam style tasks/ questions linked to C&G Functional Skills Maths assessments.
I usually use it with groups as a gentle introduction to the idea of maths and it forms a good diagnostic for the things they need to learn. It also lets me see how motivated they are to study maths!

A reflective iceberg (integrated, collaborative, engaging, balanced, economical, reflective and gradual) structure sheet for learners to complete. Six sections, each with prompts/exemplification: remembering, understanding, applying, analysing, evaluating and creating.
My L1 learners were really struggling to remember what to do to convert units of measurement and were getting very confused at the initial stage, so I made this resource and laminated it so that it was available for them to look at if they couldn’t remember. Could also be made into a poster.
A resource I created to support my students getting used to what they needed to divide or multiply by to convert between units. Can easily be laminated for repeated use, or increased in size and turned in to a poster.
Handy cards to help students with metric measurements. Created for students who learnt Imperial measures at school, but helpful to other students as well.

A really useful wallet-sized reminder about metric and Imperial conversions, area., volume and perimeter. Print back to back, laminate and cut into 12 cards.
First used in a pre-GCSE maths (L1-2) class for: mental maths, number patterns, multiples, helping with division (if you don’t know your tables) and much more. For all levels from E2-L2. Six 100 squares on page 1, six times-table squares on page 2. Print back to back on pastel paper, laminate, cut up and give to learners to keep. Print on paper and use to investigate number patters (e.g. highlight all multiples of 4 in 100 square, highlight square numbers in tables square, etc.)
