Adult Numeracy, Functional Maths, and GCSE Resources

My L1 learners were really struggling to remember what to do to convert units of measurement and were getting very confused at the initial stage, so I made this resource and laminated it so that it was available for them to look at if they couldn’t remember. Could also be made into a poster.

A resource I created to support my students getting used to what they needed to divide or multiply by to convert between units. Can easily be laminated for repeated use, or increased in size and turned in to a poster.

Handy cards to help students with metric measurements. Created for students who learnt Imperial measures at school, but helpful to other students as well.

The notebook file includes lots of drag and drop sorting activities and finishes by introducing a separate PDF worksheet that focuses on metric units of length.

Lovely introduction to perimeter, area and volume. The learner can move squares and 3D blocks around to see how area and volume relate to physical squares / cubes.

Introduce the topic using the Smart Notebook activity.
8 identical pages, each with a blank number line, a movable arrow to show the position of the number to be rounded and a sentence at the bottom to state what is happening.
Learners can fill in the ends of the number line to see what values are relevant to the question i.e. rounding 23 to the nearest 10 would be either 20 or 30 as an answer. Then they can move the arrow to the position needed, 23, then see which value the number is closest to.
