An essential piece of kit for those embarking on EDS teaching. Love the 4 tier "traffic light" system. Written for Gateway but useful for all awarding bodies.

Slides designed to support delivery of Gateway's EDSQ (Essential Digital Skills Qualification), Unit 4 (Transaction) at Entry Level and Level 1, with embedded Functional Skills English activities at L1 and L2. This set of slides includes skills from sections 3 (Communication) and 4 (Transaction) of the standards.  The slides cover: online banking and buying, filling in secure forms with bank details, digital  footprints and using security systems such as Captcha, and much more. Also many useful links to YouTube videos and other online learning applications. 

Completing these challenges will help students to create a basic PowerPoint that runs automatically and provides evidence through printed handouts.

I think the learning outcomes quoted above relate to the OCR ICT Award  (or similar) but this beautifully clear, step by step task sheet is ideal for any Level 1-2 ICT course.

A task sheet for L1 Functional Skills ICT. It focuses on Task 3 of the Edexcel exam paper which involves being creative and producing a document that uses clear presentation features and is fit for purpose.
Includes two tasks (a restaurant menu and a flyer for a student production) plus a short extension.

I have created a paper based initial assessment for ICT to identify if students should be working towards Level 1 or Level 2.

Rugby themed task on reading (use of quotations and dialogue, facts versus opinions), researching and writing a short article. Simulations of email and online banking registration forms. Can be used in succession, as for the banking registration form you need an email address. When you press the “create account” button it will open the printing menu. Good luck!

Practice some of the skills needed for ICT Functional skills and also a bit of fun. Can be used individually, in pairs or groups. Two lots of 15 questions with fill-in answersheet attached.
