Listen for detail and respond, in a face-to-face situation (see also Sc/E1.3d)
(i) make use of gesture and eye contact to aid understanding
(ii) be able to signal they are listening, by using markers, e.g. I see
(iii) understand the importance of checking back when listening for detail, and be able to do so
(iv) be able to signal lack of understanding/ask for clarification

A speaking and listening activity designed to practise asking where food items are in a supermarket. Also involves practise with the numbers 1 to 8.
The sheet is repeated five times – with food items in different positions (numbered supermarket aisles) on each sheet.
