This resource was written as a seasonal end-of-term numeracy practice for my students. It includes questions on shape and space (room plan), money, fractions and directions.

An adapted version of Zoe Hyde’s Christmas E1-2 Functional Maths (see below) using Australian money. There are other minor edits – for example, the football is sent to New Zealand, not to Europe.
Questions cover almost all of the E1 and E2 UK Functional Skills maths criteria. Includes shapes, size, addition and subtraction, money, reading scales and much more. Fully mapped with teaching tips.

A simulation of the AV and FPTP voting system first used in an Entry Level Functional Maths and English class on Referendum day May 5th 2011.

Students vote for their favourite chocolate and compare the results when using the two different systems.

Resource includes AV and FPTP ballot papers, ballot box labels and a polling station poster. Plus links to voting information videos and easy-read referendum information leaflets.

This uses the Olympic games 2012 as a focus.The main emphasis is maths / numeracy but ICT and English reading skills are also covered.

There are also questions on shapes, number, money and doubling.
