Straightforward but very practical worksheet where ESOL learners select a garment and answer questions about its washing care symbols. The written questions require at least E1 reading skills but other parts of the worksheet focus on symbol recognition and are thus suitable for pre-Entry emerging readers / writers.

Students can practise reading the conversation in pairs, complete the missing speech bubbles and answer the comprehension questions. Based on a conversation between two male college students. With many photographs and picture prompts.
This is a resource I developed, prior to the May 2011 referendum, to use as part of ‘language for expressing opinions’ at E3 Level.
