A very useful handout for Entry Level ESOL and/or Functional Skills ICT students. Step by step, illustrated instructions on how to create a basic PPT.

The basic PPT used in the handout images is also provided. This can be adapted by the teacher or (optionally) given to learners to adapt.

Activity to get students using Word and some of its applications by designing a poster for a gig.

Learners must choose the next manager of the England football team. Using the task sheet to guide them, they must research, collate and present information for five candidates and then make the final choice.

There is scope for plenty of lively discussion around the choices made and also about what the manager’s job entails.

A Power Point presentation is included as an example, but can also be printed out to use in some of the additional activities described.

Very clear, step by step task sheet for E3 ICT / Literacy / ESOL learners.
Enter a given short text into the PC, save and name files, set font size, etc. Then plan, write and proofread a short description about your own morning.

An E3-L1 Functional Maths, English and ICT task first used with learners at Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme. Plan and cost a restaurant meal for 20 officials (originally held at Frank and Benny’s, Chingford, but you will need to provide menus from a favourite local restaurant or chain) and then present your results in a spreadsheet..
