A-Z chart of pictures with the corresponding initial sound. I’ve tried to select pictures which Beginner ESOL adults will recognise.

Mainly written for L1 and L2 test preparation this is also suitable for Entry Level 3

Handy reference for Entry Level ESOL and Literacy learners. Helps with Alphabetical order, upper / lower case and vowels / consonants.

Encourages learners to think (and mind-map / thought-web) about skills required for a good conversation and then test them out and evaluate after a 5 minute conversation with a partner.
Written for young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Aspergers Syndrome but suitable for all.

An excellent mind map for those that want to mind map but aren’t quite sure how to get started!

Originally created for a dyslexic student student who had learned to spell the word ‘laughter’. Use as an example for students to follow when making other word maps (but encourage them to make their own maps and make their own ‘connections’).

Suffixes and SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review). Two more wonderful mind maps from Nikki Brown. One summarises spelling rules for adding suffixes and is accompanied by 3 pages of revision worksheets. The second one sums up the SQ3R reading strategy – which can be useful for dyslexia and general reading support.
