A simplified version of a newspaper article. The reading is followed by comprehension questions, a meaning match, a word find, and a scanning for correct spelling exercise. Developed for an adult student with Asperger’s, as well as dyslexia, who needs lots of motivation and exercises easy enough for him to be able to be successful without too much help.

A set of posters / cards / checklists designed to prompt discussion, check learning and keep a record of student progression. Designed for Entry Level Functional Maths and English learners in an FE setting but suitable for all levels and subjects.
This resource was inspired by discussion on the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics) site about “understanding versus doing” and I would like to thank the forum members for their ideas and feedback.

A budgeting activity that is ideal for teenagers and will prompt plenty of discussion on the realities of managing money. Comes with salary cards, rent cards, supplementary cards, balance sheets and extra extension sheets on percentages. With full teaching notes and ideas for further customisation.
First written for a group of teenagers with motivational and concentration difficulties due to a range for reasons including dyslexia, ADD and autism.
