Easter biscuits whole group quick starter activity on resizing a recipe. Two versions available: one is simplified for ESOL learners or those with lower literacy levels.

Phrase Match match the common phrases to their explicit meanings. Then select some phrases of your own and check their meanings on the internet or in a specialist dictionary. Written for learners on the autistic spectrum (who often find it particularly difficult to infer meaning that is not explicitly stated) but suitable for all ESOL and literacy learners.

Give me some advice is a great way to encourage students to provide non threatening advice, whilst improving their writing and listening-speaking skills.
