A set of posters / cards / checklists designed to prompt discussion, check learning and keep a record of student progression. Designed for Entry Level Functional Maths and English learners in an FE setting but suitable for all levels and subjects.
This resource was inspired by discussion on the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics) site about “understanding versus doing” and I would like to thank the forum members for their ideas and feedback.

Makes a good end of term or pre-test activity. 24 fun yet challenging questions cover advanced punctuation (apostrophes, colons, semi-colons), spelling, suffixes, fact/opinion, vocabulary, parts of speech, and more. Can be used individually or in teams.

A very clever resource! Page 1 is a series of tips aimed at L1-2 students taking the adult literacy multiple choice reading test but is relevant to any multiple choice English exam. Page 2 is a set of “multiple choice questions about multiple choice questions” – based on the information on page.

A wonderful practice paper. Just like the real thing with 40 multiple choice questions based a good selection of 8 authentic texts (letter, email, job advert, instructions, report, film reviews, etc.). Questions cover reading comprehension, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation.
