World Cup investigation, web sites, and teaching ideas for literacy and numeracy something for literacy and numeracy students at all levels with updated links and investigation questions. First submitted for the 2006 WC – updated in 2010.

Two resources based on ‘Little Britain’: aimed at teenage students but can be adapted for other groups. The introductory PPT cleverly introduces the idea of formality/informality by looking at dress codes, ‘chavs’ and Vicky Pollard from Little Britain! Then moves on to give good examples of formal/informal language and slang.
The accompanying PDF file includes: matching slang to more formal language, writing definitions of slang that you use, listening activities using the Little Britain Audio CD.

A set of resources for E3/L1 literacy and ESOL. Includes a shared text for reading comprehension, punctuation exercise and a web quest.

A seasonal maths investigation that involves a trip to the supermarket, scaling a recipe, rounding, estimating and much more!

Colours, Clothes and Fruit ) is a 43 page booklet with 23 Milestone 8 / Entry 1-2 paper-based word and sentence focus activities. These accompany our ‘describing people’ on-screen resources.

A practical investigation that can be enjoyed in mixed level classes.  There's something for all learners from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
