Comic Relief

A reading comprehension based on information taken from the Red Nose Day website.
Created for a group of mixed ability E2-L1 students.

Two great resources for Red Nose Day, differentiated for L1 and E3.
Each covers many aspects of Functional Maths. Topics include money, ratio, proportion, fractions, extracting from tables, mean and range, calendars and much more.

Comprehension based on a Red Nose Day order form for schools. Two comprehensions – one L1/L2, one E3. Also some embedded maths and the E3 version includes form filling. I recommend introducing the form with a discussion about features of text and layout.

I was prompted to create this set of tasks after seeing a lovely Red Nose event poster in my staff email. Although it focuses on Comic Relief 2011, this resource could easily be adapted for other charity events. Please read the resource to find out how you can obtain an editable Word version.
