This resource explores the differences between synonyms, antonyms and acronyms.
It includes an introductory PPT, a sorting activity with synonym cards, a Smart Notebook activity for interactive whiteboards, an antonym work sheet, and a synonym writing exercise.

I have found this a great resource for encouraging learners to explore a greater range of vocabulary, use dictionary and thesuarus skills, improve spelling and encourage descriptive

Introduce the topic using the Smart Notebook activity.
8 identical pages, each with a blank number line, a movable arrow to show the position of the number to be rounded and a sentence at the bottom to state what is happening.
Learners can fill in the ends of the number line to see what values are relevant to the question i.e. rounding 23 to the nearest 10 would be either 20 or 30 as an answer.

A literacy resource for learners to find words containing long A sounds made by different digraphs. This resource was written as a pairs activity although it can equally be an individual one. There are four pieces of texts each using words containing predominantly one particular digraph – ai, ey, ay, or eigh. Learners can then search for other long A sounds formed from different clusters within the same text. Peer marking and plenary extend the learning.
