Perimeter and area bingo

Submitted by Nicola Smith on Wed, 2018-01-24 16:09

Level: L1

Fun bingo game where learners practise measuring and drawing a grid – in addition to calculating areas and perimeters of simple shapes.

First one to a get line (or a full house) wins!

Editor’s note
Lovely idea that could easily be adapted for other topics.

Shape starter activity

Submitted by Helen Connell on Tue, 2013-10-08 19:17

Resource type: Hands-on / practical activity, Ice breaker

This is a good starter activity to introduce measures, shape and space. It is also useful in dividing classes into small groups.

Using the templates I created I printed them on to card of different colours. I gave the shapes to the learners as they entered the room and told them to find the table with the same shape on it. When they reached the table they found the shape and some questions to answer.

After five minutes I asked for feedback from the learners.

Resource type: Hands-on / practical activity, Revision material, Worksheet or assignment

I made this resource to check prior learning of a group I took over from another lecturer.
It could work well for assessment, revision or as an extension task.
