Mobile phone packages

Practice with multiplying decimals / money – cunningly disguised as an everyday problem! Great for all level 1 students – especially teenagers. It also involves compiling results into a table.

This resource was written in 2007 so the types of packages and the prices are probably somewhat unrealistic now but it still makes an excellent functional activity.To bring it up to date I suggest tutors ask students to complete the activity and then discuss and compare the answers with what they pay for their current mobile packages.
