Christmas celebrations around the world
Submitted by Carrie Bray on 18 December 2011.
Reading comprehension, use of capital letters and full stops, discussion and writing exercises all with a Christmas theme.
Based on texts about Christian celebrations in four different countries (Wales, Iran, Venezuela, China) the resource includes a writing exercise for students who don’t celebrate Christmas.

Wales
Hello there
The resource is largely really good but the information about Wales is not right. An Eisteddfod (pl – Eisteddfodau) has nothing to do with Christmas at all. It is a competition, at village, area or national level. It includes singing, dancing and music.
If you want anything really Welsh for Christmas, go to http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/277 where there is information about Plygain, Mari Lwyd etc.
Best wishes
Ann Hirst
