# Adult Numeracy, Functional Maths, and GCSE Resources

**122 resources**:

I designed this resource to help learners at Entry Level 3 Functional Maths understand the importance of setting out and working out multiplication calculations. I've also included some stretch questions.

**Editor's note**

A graduated and differentiated workbook covering underpinning skills and simple word problems. Focus is on multiplying 2 3 and 4 digit numbers by a single digit. For Entry Level 2 learners use Nicky's **E2 Multiplication** (to find this look under** See also** or visit Nicky's profile page).

I have designed this resource to help learners working at Entry 2 Functional Skills understand the importance of setting and working out calculations correctly. I have also included some stretch questions.

**Editor's note**

Carefully graduated and differentiated workbook covering underpinning skills and simple word problems. Builds up from E2 to 'easy' E3 skills.

I've just designed this ready for my new starts in September. It is surprising how many learners come that get basic things wrong.

As we know FS is all about reading the questions and showing workings out. I always do 5 weeks of no calculators as for some they just do not get the borrowing / carrying over and this is of course important on the non calculator papers now.

There is also an E2-E3 version of this resource.

Pat and Mitch decide to build a mini wildlife pond from an old sink. This involves digging, gathering and arranging suitable items, a trip to the aquatic centre to buy water plants, and then sitting back and observing the fruit of their labours :)

A resource I designed to help my L1 Functional Maths learners revise and check on areas they needed to work on. Covers ratio, mean, percentages, problem solving, fractions, area , volume and more!

**Editor's note**

Fabulous practice and revision! Fully mapped to the Reformed Functional Maths criteria. **If you are a resource contributor, an answer sheet will be available shortly :) **

This is the resource for L1 learners submitted by Hannah Yates on 2 June 2017, but updated with 2020 figures for JSA (job seekers allowance) and Tax allowance.

Now in SMART notebook format to use whilst screen sharing in a virtual teaching session. Answers are included on the slide following each question (and under the shades on the table on slide 3).

Useful PPT for introducing or revising probability. Warm up questions with built in answers followed by several sets of tasks - one based on another Skillsworkshop sheet (Independent Events - see link under "See also"). Covers likelihood line, calculating probability (including simplifying fractions) and probability of events using a number line.

Functional Skills level 1. Revision booklet for area and perimeter. Covers rectangles and compound shapes made up of rectangles.

**Editor's note**

A very useful set of questions with guidance. Lots of underpinning practice is followed by problem solving. Ideal for non-calculator work. **Note there is no answer sheet.**

A range of maths questions relating to Valentine's Day. Topics include measures; perimeter, area and volume; fractions and percentages; and ratio/proportion.

**Editor's note**

Ideal for non-calculator practice and revision. Fully mapped to the reformed maths content, with answers
