This is a set of part-blanked times tables grids for students to complete and use as a resource. Used with Entry level students. Includes 10×10 and 12×20 grids, with full and gap versions.

My L1 learners were really struggling to remember what to do to convert units of measurement and were getting very confused at the initial stage, so I made this resource and laminated it so that it was available for them to look at if they couldn’t remember. Could also be made into a poster.

A resource I created to support my students getting used to what they needed to divide or multiply by to convert between units. Can easily be laminated for repeated use, or increased in size and turned in to a poster.

This resource has been designed using ideas in the popular Celebrity BMI resource (From Janet Wilkins – see below) already available on Skillsworkshop but adapted to suit the needs of Entry/ Level 1 learners.

I have developed this to help me explain the process of answering open questions in Functional Maths to my L1 / L2 ESOL Foundation students (Entry 3 ESOL). However, it is suitable for any group of E3-L2 Functional Maths students.

I’m hoping it’s better than trying to read through a lot of text in a book.

This PDF is an amalgamation of methods and worked examples, sorted by topic, for both L1 and L2 Adult Numeracy/Functional Skills (some sections are also suitable for Entry 3). It is not intended as an exhaustive resource, but more of a selection of “hot topics” and exam-friendly examples (some of which are paraphrased from actual past papers).

A very useful one page reference of the E3 Functional Maths coverage and range statements with additional amplification. Extra pages list and explain the all-important process skills (skill standards).
Modelled after our similar document for L1-L2 Functional Maths (see below) this resource is particularly useful for teachers that are new to embedding Maths and want a more detailed framework and and guidance with underpinning skills.

How to times and divide is a set of beautifully clear handouts (or classroom posters) for E2-3. Covers single and 2-digit numbers in a step by step fashion.

Pictogram activities with clear overview and examples, followed by three tasks including food and car parks. Makes a great introduction to Entry 3 data handling.
