Level 2 Time revision. A PPT that takes E3-L2 learners step by step through an Edexcel L2 2017 exam question about a diving competition.
The exam question is broken down into three separate tasks, each with extra extension questions.
In addition each task has a suggested time limit which encourages learners to manage their own time in exams. Can also be printed as a worksheet: select slides 4-9 and print 1 slide per page in landscape, fit-to-page mode.

This is a PowerPoint slide show on ratios (with answers) to use with Army soldiers. The subject matter is Adventurous Training and Mountain Leader Trainers (MLTs). Most of the presentation deals with the instructor/novice ratio. The final slide is about ammunition.
This PowerPoint was used to introduce Pythagoras’ Theorem to Functional Skills college students whose main course work is to do with the Building Trades (Carpenters, Electricians). The last 4 slides therefore deal with using Pythagoras’ theorem to calculate the length of roof rafters.

I realise that using Pythagoras’ theorem is beyond the scope of L2 Functional Maths Exams but this is a very useful PPT due to the vocational questions. Would also be useful for GCSE Maths.
A fully animated Powerpoint presentation that can be used as part of a lesson or for independent study. A series of steps of increasing complexity start by illustrating the basic process of a simple division of whole numbers to end with the interpretation of remainders in everyday situations.

This Powerpoint presentation describes, with examples, a simple method to convert between metric units. The method is based on a table similar to a place value table.
Three fabulous PPTs – great for St George’s day but could be used year round.
The full length one (22 slides) was written for a 2.5 hour observed session and has in-depth coverage of multiplying decimals; area of rectangles, triangles, circles and compound shapes; substitution; and a general warm-up quiz.
There are alternative shortened versions (some activities are slightly different too) for a 1 hr L1 lesson (area of rectangles) and a 1.5 hr L1-2 Lesson (no triangles).
