Functional English SoW and resources for BTEC Sport

A substantial set of resources for BTEC Sport students. Based on a Functional English lesson given on Sport Relief day (but suitable for any time of year as it is based on the Back Up charity for spinal cord injuries – not Sport Relief). Includes

• Scheme of work for an entire academic year – covers all aspects of Functional English (reading, writing, SL&C). 18 pages.
• Lesson plan, rationale and teaching notes for the Sports Relief session. Based on producing promotional material for a charity. With a fascinating, honest and detailed rationale. (6 pages)
• A introductory kinaesthetic predictive text / paragraphing activity about a sky-diving accident. (2 pages – to be laminated)
• Comprehension questions based on a video – with optional paper-based comprehension exercises for those without internet video facilities in their classrooms. (2 × 3 page documents: one for E3, one for L1-2)
