Why might we decide to go to university as a mature student? Slides for L1 and L2 English learners to find out more about their career choices (in this case, applying for a university level course) while building their Functional English skills.

One of a series of multi-faceted resources about career choices and long-term goals. A combination of texts and videos are used to question, encourage listening and research skills, and prompt writing (writing a personal statement for UCAS). For reading, a series of short texts are used to consolidate various comprehension skills including language features and technical vocabulary. There is also much attention to underpinning skills such as punctuation. Easily adapted to suit 17-18 year olds rather than mature students.
