Learners are to identify and correct the errors, write a full explanation of their thoughts on the matter and write an appropriate email to the head teacher.

Editor’s note

An enjoyable and challenging Creative Writing exercise that learners can use for reflection and self-expression. Responses from my learners have been in the form of articles, reports, power-point presentations, stories, poems, museum guidebooks, and notated floor-plans, but could also be in any other format agreed between tutor and learner.
The sheet can also be used as a discussion exercise for Speaking, Listening and Communication purposes.

Cloze activity, reading and a writing exercise to mark National Obesity Awareness Week which runs 12th-18th January 2015, although the activity does not specifically refer to this and so can be used at any time. The cloze acts as an introduction, while the reading should stimulate discussion and provide the background for the writing activity. The writing task includes space for planning and drafting.

Aimed at E1-E3 learners, this resource can be used to introduce the spellings of days and months at E1 or E2, or as a revision tool at E2 or E3. After finding the names of all 7 days and 12 months in the Wordsearch, where they are presented in upper-case letters, the learner uses the next sheet to write the names in the chart using the correct combination of upper and lower case letters.
