A demonstration of how not to make a PowerPoint. This has been used for all levels as an extreme example of the worst PowerPoint ever.

A series of clear tasks that works well for a wide ability range (E2-L1).
Includes: resizing pictures, creating and saving folders and files, web research and poster design.

Useful 1 page handout. Very simple instructions on how to correct a mistake made when typing in Microsoft Word. First used with residents at a clinic who have learning difficulties but ideal for any beginner.

Here is another Level 1-2 variant on the classic ‘Smarties’ investigation which incorporates the use of a PC and Excel. I stopped using Smarties and Skittles because of the health and hygiene issues.

Very clear, step by step task sheet for E3 ICT / Literacy / ESOL learners.
Enter a given short text into the PC, save and name files, set font size, etc. Then plan, write and proofread a short description about your own morning.

This is a fabulous board game created as a fun and gentle introduction to L1-2 Functional ICT (or other ICT type classes). It also makes a good ice breaker at the beginning of term. Best printed onto A3 and laminated.

A lovely, very topical set of Functional Skills tasks about the UK digital TV switchover that began in 2009 and finishes in 2012.

The task sheet covers reading comprehension, research, and ICT skills such as finding and selecting information, saving and printing files.

An E3-L1 Functional Maths, English and ICT task first used with learners at Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme. Plan and cost a restaurant meal for 20 officials (originally held at Frank and Benny’s, Chingford, but you will need to provide menus from a favourite local restaurant or chain) and then present your results in a spreadsheet..
