Keith Burnett's Maths and Numeracy handouts
Submitted by Keith Burnett on 17 January 2011.
I produce handouts for my own teaching and I upload a few examples each week. This link leads to a page which automatically lists the handouts. Each handout entry includes topic tags (I haven’t cracked level tags as yet but I am working towards that). The handouts are produced mostly in OpenOffice and exported as pdf files.

Measuring using metric units
[img_assist|nid=4092|title=Measuring with metric units|desc=download from Keith’s site|link=popup|align=left|width=77|height=100]Keith, I really like your latest sheet Measuring using metric units. Am planning on using this in my E3-L1 Functional Maths group. This is a discrete maths group but your worksheet would also be ideal for embedding measuring in a construction, painting – decorating, or similar course. The health & safety considerations at the top of the sheet are an added bonus – as is the sly inclusion of mean average and decimal notation and the way you relate m and cm to £ and pence.
What a great example of the importance of making connections in mathematics – and all on a single page worksheet!
