BBC Key Skills

A very useful (archived) site for both students and tutors involved in Key Skills at Levels 2 or 3. Covers Number, Communication, ICT and Wider Key Skills – many of the topics covered are equally suitable for Functional Skills support (e.g. report writing, DIY number project).

Includes interactive 20 question practice tests, and a very good tutor toolkit for Level 2 number with masses of information sheets explaining exactly what students are expected to know, along with sample test questions. For example, look at these tutors’ fact sheets on calculations.

In the Extra section there are some quick learning style quizzes – find out if you are right or left brained; visual, auditory or kinaesthetic; etc.
