Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tutor Manual: From Research to Practice
The astounding Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tutor Manual: From Research to Practice has recently been released as a joint venture between Libraries Tasmania and TasTAFE (Tasmanian Technical and Further Education) and was designed to help tutors build learner confidence, independence, and opportunity.
It's an immense tome and has been split into three downloadable PDFs. Although written for the Australian many resources and much of the information is suitable for all branches of English teaching.
Here's a brief overview:
Vol 1 (320 pages) - Tutoring Adults in the Australian Context: pedagogy; reading, writing and the connections between them; numeracy (e.g. place value, partitioning, proportional reasoning); EAL learners, session planning.
Vol 2 (100 pages) - Diversity and Inclusion: dyslexia, developmental language disorder, trauma informed practice.
Vol 3 (160 pages) - Templates and Resources: dozens of resources including
Literacy - word roots, writing planners, creative writing, mind maps, grammar, spelling rules
Numeracy - number lines, blank clocks, number games, arrays, fraction wall
Learner organisation - calendars
Session planning - learning goals, reflective practice questions
