A video which briefly introduces the use of apostrophe in the English language. A very helpful and informative video that will help with the understanding of the often misunderstood apostrophe. It is great to use as a refresher or revision aid when brushing up on punctuation skills.

This is a site with exercises for learners of English based around football (produced in conjunction with the Premier League). It is probably more suitable for ESOL learners, but there will be sections that could be used for Adult Literacy or Functional Skills learners – as long as they like football!
The National Learning Network materials have found a new home on the LSIS web site. Masses of onscreen interactive learning activities along with extensive tutor guidance. Although the materials were created quite a few years ago there is still much useful content. Covers numeracy from Entry 3 – Level 3, ESOL (E1-L2), Literacy (L1-L3), family learning, and a host of vocational subjects including care, beauty, business, and floristry (see pop up picture for details).
BBC Skillswise – full of all sorts of useful stuff for numeracy and literacy, with Core Curriculum references. Aimed at Entry 3 and Level 1 learners the site had a major makeover in September 2011 and there are now plans to introduce E1-2 and L2 resources. The 100 new 1 minute videos are brilliant for introducing maths and English in an embedded learning situation.

I’ve just found this cool new site where you can make and play with your own flashcards online. There’s a huge built in library and thousands of decks of cards or you can create your own. Choose to match cards, listen to optional audio, and/or type in answers
It needs a bit of patience to learn how it all works, but it’s pretty cool.
The site also includes word games, crossword solvers and much more.
