Use punctuation to aid clarity and meaning
(i) Know all the punctuation markers for the beginning and ends of sentences, and knowing when to use each one
(ii) Understand the use of commas and use them appropriately, e.g. for listing items in connected prose, between clauses in complex sentences, after connectives like however
(iii) Understand the use of apostrophes for possession and omission, and use them appropriately
(iv) Understand that in writing that is not in sentences, other punctuation can be used to make the meaning clear, e.g. bullet points for a set of instructions when word-processing, dashes in a handwritten vertical list, and use these punctuation marks accordingly
