(a) Name and recognise the function of a variety of different punctuation symbols, including capital letters, full stops, commas to separate words in a list or parts of a sentence, question and exclamation marks, speech marks, bullet points and numbering
(b) Understand that punctuation relates to sentence structure and text type to help the reader make sense of the written text, and apply this understanding in their own reading
