Respond to questions on a range of topics
(i) Recognise a range of question types, including embedded questions and alternative questions
(ii) Recognise the type and amount of information required, and give a short or longer answer as appropriate
(iii) Recognise the register used by the speaker, and match the register in response
(iv) Recognise the intention of a question and interpret lexis according to this intention
Example: ‘What do you enjoy about working here?' (asked in an appraisal meeting)
‘Did you enjoy the film?' (asked in a social conversation)
