Numeracy: Functional Maths

Literacy: Functional English - reading, Functional English - writing

ICT: Functional ICT

General: Exam tips and help

Level: L1

Resource type: Interactive presentation, Revision material

I have create these three PPTs for the three FS exams. I have aimed to create short PPTs to help ease some of the stress and pitfalls of the Level 1 exams. They are based around feedback and advice I have obtained from City and Guilds, students and tutors. Although written for C&G Functional Skills most of the information will be relevant any FS awarding body.
Each PPT includes key vocabulary/definitions, quick fire questions, common errors (and remedies), exam details (length, structure and what to bring). The Maths and English versions also include short warm up activities based on optical illusions

Physical format:
3 PPTs of 15-21 slides

Any chance of a copy of the associated exercises?

Of course. For the maths

Of course.

For the maths revision task, I used the City and Guilds sample paper 1 Task 2. I use this one as you will only need to print two pages from the candidate paper (Pg4-5 )and two pages from the source paper (4-5). I usually download this direct from City and Guilds: http://www.cityandguilds.com/57605.html?s=4

The others I shall add for you.
Many thanks
Charlotte

Just to say thanks for sharing the fantastic resource. I’ll try and upload some of my stuff. I’ve made some resources that make use of music and song lyrics to aid their English skill and some other English games like themed boggle.

Sounds good to me!

Gary just let me know when you’re ready to share resources and I’ll change your user status to “contributor”. Then you’ll see an extra “create content” option in your menu when you are logged in.
… and many thanks to Charlotte for adding the extra resources.

Thank you for the kind
