A set of cards that can be used to play a game where students have shares in a small company. Each group of three players receives ‘market updates’ in the form of cards that require them to divide a number in a ratio, or find the value of an amount given the value of part of the amount. Students are encouraged to keep full financial records.

Lovely, rather unusual ratio worksheet. One question involves working backwards from a paint mixing chart to discover what colour paint you will end up with! Cocktail and smoothie ratios is a wonderful way to introduce ratio and proportion (also covers converting measures). Choose your favourites from the ‘menu’, work out ratios for the ingredients and calculate amounts required for multiples such as 6, 10 and 20 drinks, make up your own cocktail.
Adapted from Jodie Travis’s original version (see below). This adapted version includes a wider range of non-alcoholic cocktails / smoothies for students that do not drink alcohol.
Also ideal for underpinning L1-2 Functional Maths.
