Two sets of real-life problems to solve. Page 1 (5 problems) is based on a motorist, page 2 (6 problems) on a waitress. Great for practising chosen written method of multiplication (e.g. traditional, lattice or grid).
Two great PPTs with step by step examples using the lattice method (with decimals up to 3 places) and lots of real life practical examples inc. money and measures.
One PPT is for the tutor and can also be used to demonstrate the step by step process. The second PPT is for students and includes blank lattice grids and a series of problems to work on individually or in pairs (could also be printed to make a useful work book).
Originally used during a college ‘Be Healthy’ week but makes a great thought-provoking activity at anytime. Covers addition and multiplication of whole numbers and money, plus working with units of time.
