Numeracy: Functional Maths - measures, shape, money, Time

Free tags: Freetime, hobbies, time

Level: E3, L1

Resource type: Worksheet or assignment

Students fill in how they spend their time. Some may colour code, some may write in the boxes. Then they work out how much time they spend on each activity per week.

It’s up to them (or you!) how they present their answers. For example, as a written report, as bullet points, as a bar chart, pie chart (using a spreadsheet), etc.

Don’t forget to work out how much time they spend asleep! They should also make sure their total is the same as 7 × 24. This can then generate some interesting comparisons and discussion.

An adapted version of Judith White’s pancake resource aimed at Level 1 (see below). I have created this resource to use with Entry 3 (and slightly higher E3/L1) learners.

Four tasks based on a traditional pancake recipe. Space is provided for showing working out and one task involves independent web research.

Covers number, simple proportion, money, time and measures. All three process skills are covered.
