This site is owned and maintained by Maggie Harnew. I am a basic skills tutor at Abingdon and Witney College where I use the site as a resource in my literacy, numeracy, ESOL and study / language / dyslexia support classes.
The site is non-profit making and is maintained in my free time. Thanks must go to all my students, past and present, and to all the site users who have contributed resources or words of encouragement.
Resources contributed by site users have the author's name on every page and their copyright remains with the author. Resources with no author's name are, unless otherwise stated, copyright Maggie Harnew. Resources can be used freely for teaching purposes but cannot be used for profit or placed on other web sites (more on this below).
Join my mailing list for the latest site news. You will receive an email newsletter every 3-4 months. Last newsletter mailed out 15/02/09.

Resources on the site used to reflect whatever subjects and levels I was teaching. However, I am delighted to say that there are now so many brilliant contributors that I barely have time to write my own resources! In order to create a balanced and up-to-date site - Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL resources are always needed (all levels from preEntry to Level 2).
PLEASE consider contributing a resource. If you have a worksheet or teaching idea that has worked well in your own classes - it will be useful to other tutors. See below for further information.
If you can't send a resource you can still contribute by sending comments, feedback or differentiation ideas to Maggie or you can leave immediate comments on the Blog. Most resources are printable PDF files but free editable Word versions are available in exchange for your contributed resources or feedback. (see below)
View my list of site supporters and read the comments page.

*** Copyright for each resource remains with the author. Resources must not be used by any person or organisation for profit or gain without the express permission of the individual contributor. ***

CONTRIBUTING RESOURCES

Simply send them to me as an email attachment i.e. Word, notebook (for interactive whiteboards), PPT,  XLS files etc). Don’t worry about adding headers, curriculum links, fancy formatting etc. I can do that for you as needed (but if you want to add them that’s great too!). Please do not send PDF files - I cannot process them, add site headers/footers, etc.

Unless I am on holiday - or my computer has broken - I will send you a thank you confirmation within 24 hours.

Do let me know how you would like the credit line at the bottom of each page. Normal credit is: This resource kindly contributed by (NAME, COLLEGE, EMAIL) but some contributors prefer not to include their email and/or institution.

All resource contributors receive a regular email after the monthly site stats are updated. This includes general site news and suggestions for new  topical resources.

Contributors are welcome to ask for editable Word versions of other site resources in exchange – this is done on a one to one exchange basis but I’m pretty flexible about it…

Thus, do remember that if you send in a resource you are agreeing that Word versions can be sent out to other site contributors (see also copyright details above).

Apologies in advance if there is a delay before resources appear on site but I nearly always have a bit have a bit of a back log here (it can take from 12 hours to 3 months for resources to appear). I send you PDF and Word proofs before uploading (only PDF versions appear on site due to space restrictions).

Please contact me if you have further queries / worries.

Plagiarism - please provide web links if any information or pictures in your resources are copied or adapted from other sources. Unfortunately, during 2008 I had to refuse 20+ resources and have also removed 30+ resources from the site.
